Firstly, the damage of the hand can be caused by Dermatitis Contact, a localized rash or irritation of the skin caused by contact with a foreign substance as a result of working without gloves, dentist’s unprotect hands are constantly being washed and routinely subjected to contact with many primary irritants and sensitizers.

Secondly, the dermatitis contact can be caused by the allergy of latex or nickel that is used in dental instrument. There is various type of materials which is used in dental and some of them could be the primary factor from hand dermatitis in dentist and dental workers. The dental materials contain methyl methacrylate, komposit, epoxy and amalgam which can become hazard if the dentist does careless.

Thirdly , most of the damage occurred on the left three fingers because the dentist dentistry materials that contains residual monomer of methacrylate. In finger fixation matrix method, the dentists will hold the matrices with the first, second and third left finger in the dental patient. The doctor's right hand will hold the material to be applied to the dental patient. Thus unconsciously, the material used for bonding agent or dental filling smearing the dentist’s fingers on his left hand, who experienced greater risks if the doctor did not wear gloves. The exposure of dental materials can also occur when the dentist mix filler and catalyst. The dentists will mix the material above the square glass and when the mixing process, the dentist usually unconsciously holding the glass with 3 fingers to consolidate holdings. So it is possible dentists to more expose severe in 3 fingers holding the glass.

Fourthly, the environment can affect the damage. It involved good ventilation, safety-easy cleaning, hygiene of dental tools and waste management. Characterize the work environment and identify factors that influence the occupational health of dental hygienists. The working habit and the lifestyle of the dentist also becoming some factor that influence exposure of hand dermatitis. Bad life style make dermatitis become more severe such as long working time without a rest and enough sleep, hence it easier to the body get disease from all kind of agent.
